I do enjoy Kendra Elliots writing. I have read a few other novels written by her and have enjoyed them all. This book started off fast paced and right to the point. Mercy Kilpatrick an FBI agent goes undercover with an anti government militia. She is not allowed to tell her future husband and police chief Truman Daly anything about the assignment. Just that she is leaving and will be gone what she thinks two weeks.


This book moves right along and keeps the reader in suspense. This is nothing I like more then a book that keeps you wanting to turn the page. This book did that for me. With not knowing where Mercy was and Truman not giving up it did have a small romantic role within the book.

I would say the only part that left me thinking "really". Was when Mercy escapes. I felt with her injuries coupled with the distance required to travel not many would make such a hike. However this is a book and lets face it Mercy is your female badass! I have enjoyed this series and sad that its the last book. I do look forward to more books by Elliot and a cameo of these two characters. .
